A photo from Red Stripe’s expansion ceremony was denoted a spot in Rhode Island Monthly’s “36 Things that Prove You’re From Rhode Island”, an article that provides a compilation of common Rhode Island attributes and occurrences. The photo, credited to Red Stripe’s Twitter page, featured political notables – including former Providence Mayor Vincent A. “Buddy” Cianci and Cranston Mayor Allan Fung – taking part in the ribbon-cutting to reveal the restaurant’s expansion.
We at Red Stripe agree: It is very Rhode Island to “rub elbows” with local dignitaries at special events
Thank you, 92 Pro FM and Hot 106, for including Red Stripe’s frites on your list of “The Absolute Best Fries in Rhode Island”. We are honored by the recognition, and look forward to many more years of providing high-quality frites (in a chrome-wire cup, no less) to our valued customers.

Red Stripe in Wayland Square is always hopping. But on the night of Tuesday, Sept. 16, it was THE place to see and be seen, as we celebrated the debut of the Providence restaurant’s new dining area, bar and function room.
Over 140 invited guests attended this VIP bash, happily standing toe-to-toe while noshing on creative appetizers (you outdid yourself, Chef Ryan!) and sipping wine and beer served by our cheerful wait staff and the ever-effervescent “Red Stripe Beer Girls.”
It also being the height of the 2014 campaign season, two political notables, Cranston Mayor and gubernatorial candidate Allan Fung and former Providence Mayor and current mayoral hopeful Vincent A. “Buddy” Cianci, stopped by to take part in our ribbon-cutting (and do a little good-natured schmoozing).
Renowned Interior designer Judd Brown in conjunction with Jefferson Group Architects of Pawtucket, RI, designed the 1,650-square foot addition, which allows Red Stripe to accommodate an additional 74 diners. Besides the spacious second bar area, there are two dining rooms separated by a large sliding barn door to facilitate business meetings or private parties of various sizes. Done in stylish earth tones, the new space is warm and welcoming, yet distinctly modern, and blends seamlessly with the original restaurant area.
There was definitely a “buzz” created that evening and all of us here at Red Stripe and Encore Hospitality Group look forward to hosting many more successful parties at the roomier Providence location.
TripAdvisor has awarded both Red Stripe and its sister restaurant Mill’s Tavern with a 2014 Certificate of Excellence. This prestigious award recognizes our Encore Hospitality Group restaurants for consistently earning top ratings from travelers.
Red Stripe and Mill’s Tavern also are Open Table Diner’s Choice Award Winners for the third consecutive year (2014).
Our Sunday Brunch (10:00 am – 3:00 pm) continues to delight guests from near and far. Our unique menu includes everything from fresh grapefruit brulee, oatmeal, vegetarian quiche and omelettes, to Black Angus burgers, Croque Madame, and Red Stripe Grilled Cheese with prosciutto, poached pear and basil pesto.
We’re excited to announce that we are opening another location in East Greenwich this fall! Located at 455 Main Street (the former Caprice Restaurant), we’re bringing our refined comfort food menu and family-friendly neighborhood atmospheres to folks in the Greater West Bay area.
Construction on the location is currently in full bloom. We plan to open doors to diners in October.
After completing an interior and exterior facelift, our new restaurant will open to accommodate 175 guests, including a private dining area to host special gatherings and celebrations.
